Overview
Trainee CWP role in Camden CAMHS Wellbeing Team. 4 x Trainee Children's Wellbeing Practitioner (CWP) Band 4. Hours: 10 sessions / 37.5 hours per week. Duration: 1 year fixed term. Location: Tavistock Centre, 120 Belsize Lane, London, NW3 5BA. This training position is part of a service transformation initiative delivered by NHS England as part of the CYP Psychological Trainings (PT) programme. The Wellbeing Team works with children and families aged 4–18, providing group and individual CBT and parent training for mild to moderate anxiety, low mood, or challenging behaviour, plus community engagement and service user involvement projects. The Tavistock is a recognised training centre and offers a supportive environment for trainees.
Main duties: The post holder will undertake training at King’s College London alongside working in the Wellbeing Team, learning to deliver evidence-based guided self-help interventions for children and young people with mild to moderate mental health difficulties. Applicants should be ready to start in early/mid-January 2026.

Essential Qualifications and Skills
* Undergraduate degree, upper second class or above, in Psychology or related subject, or any subject with further training/experience in a relevant field (e.g., Teaching/TA; Learning Support; HCA; Youth Work; Counselling).
* Previous experience of working with children and young people.
* Knowledge of child development, child wellbeing or mental health gained through study or experience.
* Ability to learn in a variety of settings and via different learning methods, including remote delivery.
* Self-motivated learner who can set progress objectives and negotiate pathways with supervisory teams.
* Ability to manage a sensitive, traumatic, and potentially emotionally distressing caseload.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills.
* Good time management and organisational skills.
