Administrative Assistant – Medical Secretariat

Team QEH have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated individual to join our Medical Secretariat Team. We are looking for an Admin Assistant for the Medical Secretariat to provide assistance to PA’s, Senior Medical Secretaries and Consultants.

Previous secretarial experience is not essential for this post.

When sufficient qualified applicants have been received this post will be closed.

As part of your role you will liaise with other colleagues in the team to contribute to the smooth running of the department.

* Well organized and able to deal with the public efficiently and politely.
* Desirably experienced in typing/word processing; desire to learn audio typing and medical terminology is advantageous.
* Ability to use the Patient Centre information system in accordance with Trust procedures in a timely way to assist in co‑ordination of care pathways (training will be given).
* Work to a very high standard.

We’re working on a once‑in‑a‑generation opportunity to build a new state‑of‑the‑art hospital and are also carrying out one of the biggest pieces of digital transformation work we’ve ever undertaken. Our new electronic patient record (EPR) will replace paper‑based patient records from 2026 and will lead to better, safer, joined‑up care at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and beyond.
