Simply Education is seeking a compassionate and resilient SEMH Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs in a welcoming and supportive school in Sutton.
This is a rewarding role for someone who is patient, adaptable, and passionate about helping children overcome barriers to learning and succeed both in and out of the classroom.
About the Role:
Provide 1:1 and small-group support for pupils with SEMH needs
Help pupils manage their emotions, build resilience, and develop positive behaviour strategies
Support academic learning in line with the KS1 and KS2 curriculum
Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and external professionals to deliver personalised support plans
Foster a safe, inclusive, and nurturing learning environmentWhat We're Looking For:
Experience working with children with SEMH or behavioural needs (school-based experience desirable)
A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
Strong behaviour management and de-escalation skills
Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
Relevant training (e.g., Team Teach) is an advantage but not essentialWhat We Offer:
