The Extracare Charitable Trust are recruiting for a full-time Dementia and Mental Wellbeing Enabler to join our friendly and supportive team at Yates Court, based in Evesham.

We are excited to be recruiting for a Dementia and Mental Wellbeing Enabler to support the village's commitment in delivering ExtraCare's mission of “better lives for older people”.

Role Details

* Role: Dementia and Mental Wellbeing Enabler
* Hours: 20 hours per week
* Contract: Permanent
* Rate: £15,402.40 per annum
* Location: Yates Court, High Street, Evesham, WR11 4DN

Extracare does not participate in the current “UK Visa Sponsorship” scheme, and we would not be able to facilitate sponsorship.

Essential requirements

* Provide one to one support to people living with dementia and common mental health conditions
* Caseload management experience
* Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
* Experience of using cognitive assessments

Skills and Competencies

* Ability to develop empathic relationships with residents
* Ability to use supervision effectively and self-reflect
* Capacity to remain motivated even when working under pressure
* Respect for other people's rights of autonomy
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Ability to apply your knowledge of psychosocial and solution focused interventions to residents' problems
* Understand the limits of your role and when to escalate cases for clinical input
* Good IT skills, proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
* Formal qualification in relevant field (Health & Social Care, Psychology, Counselling)
* Good understanding of the psychosocial approach
* Good understanding of the needs of individuals living with dementia
* Be able to describe pharmacological and non-pharmacological treatments for dementia symptoms
* Good understanding of the needs of individuals living with common mental health conditions
