The Opportunity We are now recruiting for an Operations Lead. The primary function of the role is to manage and support the operational activities and team within the CHP. The responsibilities include advising on these areas to ensure that practices, procedures, and systems comply with statutory requirements, industry standards, and px Group guidelines. The core function of this role will be to lead and manage the operations staff to achieve safe and reliable operation from the Stallingborough assets. You’ll be supported with personalised on the job training, coaching, mentoring and twice-yearly development and performance reviews to help maintain & develop your contributions and competence. Department Operations Employment Type Permanent - Full Time Location Grimsby Workplace type Onsite Reporting To Plant Manager Key Responsibilities Direct line management responsibility of the operations team and apprentices on site to include appraisals and absence management. Ensure safe, environmentally compliant, CHP operation and maintenance by monitoring, inspecting and controlling plant parameters, completing plant routines and providing appropriate first line maintenance. Provide start up and shutdown services in respect of plant systems and lead required emergency response drills Identify and immediately report plant defects, observations and anomalies that have, or have the potential to affect the safety of the process or which are noted to be abnormal to usual operations Apply, manage and mointor safe systems of work, CoW, including Putting People to Work, Authorisation to Work, and px safety systems. As appropriate, complete assigned safety role duties. Assist plant engineers and plant manager on plant projects, fault diagnosis, maintenance and outage preparation, implementation and evaluation. Skills, Knowledge and Expertise Minimum Requirements: Apprenticeship in either operations, EC&I or mechanical engineering. HNC or working towards HNC in a process or engineering discipline Relevant operations experience in a operations, maintenance or engineering role in a 24/7 environment. Experience developing, implementing and evaluating systems, upgrades, improvement and modifications. Fault diagnosis and problem solving experience. Experience supporting outage planning and management. Able to produce and maintain site documentation, records and procedures. Line management experience and experience managing contractors.
