About the role: An exciting opportunity has arisen within the world’s largest chemical distributor to join Brenntag’s UK Water Treatment Sales team. In a fast‑moving sector driven by increasing environmental and legislative pressures, Brenntag works closely with customers to provide innovative and compliant water treatment solutions using our extensive product portfolio and technical expertise. The role will provide specific technical and/or scientific expertise to customers and Account Managers in order to achieve agreed sales performance targets within the assigned industry, segment, or product portfolio. The position will also contribute to the development of new customers and applications, supporting long‑term growth in the Water Treatment market. A science‑based degree and/or experience within the water treatment sector is required. While the ideal location is London or the Midlands, applications are welcomed from wider regions where business needs align. Responsibilities: Use technical and application expertise to create value for customers and drive sales opportunities and projects Manage and convert sales opportunities across assigned water treatment products and market sectors Actively identify, develop, and manage new customer opportunities for strategic Water Treatment products Build strong, long‑term customer relationships through regular visits and consultative engagement Deliver agreed performance objectives, including budgeted sales and margin targets Provide technical solutions, product recommendations, and high levels of customer service for new and existing customers Support Sales Managers, Business Managers, and Account Managers (external) across all Water Treatment products Provide deep technical and application expertise where sales colleagues may have limited technical background Maintain and continuously develop product, application, and industry knowledge including trends, regulations, and customer needs Work closely with customers on new applications and solution development Collaborate with suppliers to develop technical opportunities and present pipeline progress and conversions Provide timely and accurate reports on activities undertaken, including plans, customer visits, reviews, performance, and achievements Share customer and market feedback with Business Managers, Sales Managers, Account Managers, Marketing, and wider stakeholders Your Profile Essential: A degree in Chemistry or a related scientific discipline or equivalent experience within the Water Treatment sector Strong interpersonal, communication, and relationship‑building skills A customer‑focused mindset with the ability to identify and develop opportunities Willingness to learn, develop technical capability, and grow within a technical sales role Comfortable working in industrial or waste‑type environments Desirable: Experience within the Water Treatment industry or related sectors Understanding of water treatment applications, chemicals, or regulatory drivers Previous exposure to technical sales, account management, or business development Location The ideal candidate would be based in the London or Midlands area; however, applications from other regions will be considered where aligned with business coverage needs.
