Programme Officer - Enterprise and Innovation
The Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine (LSTM) is seeking a Programme Officer - Enterprise & Innovation to join our dynamic and growing Enterprise & Innovation (E&I) team. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of high-impact global health programmes that are shaping innovation and enterprise both in the UK and across low- and middle-income countries (LMICs).
About The Role
LSTM is looking for a Programme Officer to provide dedicated programme management and operational support across a diverse portfolio of innovation and enterprise initiatives. The successful candidate will work closely with internal teams and external partners to ensure the successful delivery of programmes - on time, within budget, and in line with both internal processes and funder requirements.
Key Responsibilities Will Include
* Programme Management and Coordination: Support the Operations Manager and Programme Leads in the planning, coordination, and operational delivery of E&I programmes.
* Develop and maintain programme documentation including project plans, activity trackers, risk registers, and stakeholder engagement logs.
* Monitor programme activities and progress against milestones and deliverables, supporting reporting requirements for funders and governance groups.
* Organise and support programme meetings, events, and workshops, including scheduling, preparing agendas, taking minutes, and managing follow-up actions.
* Assist in the preparation of programme reports, presentations, and documentation for both internal and external audiences.
Operational and Administrative Support
* Provide operational and administrative support for programme delivery, including financial administration, procurement processes, and contracting, ensuring compliance with institutional and funder policies.
* Maintain accurate programme records and filing systems, ensuring version control and audit-readiness.
* Support the organisation and logistics for programme-related events, training sessions, and stakeholder engagement activities, including booking venues, arranging travel, and handling participant communications.
* Liaise effectively with internal LSTM departments such as Finance, Contracts, and Research Governance to support programme operations.
Stakeholder Engagement and Relationship Management
* Act as a key operational point of contact for programme stakeholders, partners, and collaborators, supporting effective communications and relationship management.
* Assist in organising stakeholder meetings, partner visits, and knowledge-sharing activities.
Skills
The ideal candidate will have excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work as an integral and flexible member of a fast-paced collaborative environment. They will be able to demonstrate:
* Degree in relevant field and/or demonstratable professional experience
* Knowledge of programme or project management principles
* A demonstrable track record of meeting deadlines
* Experience supporting complex programmes or projects within a higher education, research, or innovation setting
* Experience coordinating multiple stakeholders, including academic and professional service teams
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office and digital collaboration tools (e.g. Teams, SharePoint).
