Children's Residential Support Worker - up to £33,236.40 salary package.

What you can expect.
You will be working as a Support Worker in our 6 bedded Childrens short breaks residential service in Wolverhampton. You will be caring for Children between the ages of 4 18. The service provides care and support for individuals who have severe learning difficulties, Autism, ADHD and associated behavioural challenges, children accommodated at the home may also present with sensory impairment, physical disabilities, and challenging behaviour or equally, with complex health care needs.
The service offers a unique experience for staff which enables staff to learn a wide range of skills, supporting children of a vast variety of needs all in one role, it is a fast-paced environment that guarantees everyday to be different and offering of new challenges.
Shifts: You will be working a mixture of Early shifts, late shifts, long days and the rota does include alternate weekends, the rotas are across a full working week Monday-Sunday. There is also a requirement to do Sleep Ins (min 1 per week)
The home is rated OUTSTANDING by OFSTED.
There is a real ethos of positivity at the home, and managers and staff are highly motivated to provide enriching experiences to children. The manager aspires for continual development and improvement. Children have thoroughly enjoyable experiences during their short breaks.
The organisations training programme for those who are new into leadership roles is well established and provides focused support for staff development and progression. All staff are trained in a breadth of topics, which prepares them well for their roles. OFSTED January 2025

What we want from you
Qualifications / Experience
Successful candidates will ideally need to have:
Level 3 in Residential Childcare or Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young Peoples Workforce (Social Care Pathway), candidates who are successful and do not hold this qualification will be supported to complete this after passing their probation.
You will also have experience of working with children and young people with moderate to severe learning disabilities and/or physical disabilities, Autism, ADHD, sensory impairment, and associated behavioural challenges and/or complex care needs, however we will consider candidates from EBD residential settings also.

About Progress
We have been established for 25 years and provide Residential, Supported Living and Fostering services to Children and Young Adults with Learning Disabilities across the Midlands. We will reward you with a starting salary of £12.30 - £13.20 per hr, (salary based on competency qualifying criteria) plus premium rates for Sleeps of £62.55 ( min 2 per month) and regular overtime opportunities ( salary up to worked out on a minimum of 7.5 hours overtime threshold being met = £2.50 on the standard base rate )
Further increases on hourly rate based upon, relevant qualification, mentoring and shift leading.
