We are seeking an enthusiastic, team‑oriented Veterinary Surgeon to join our team at Sunninghill Vets on a 12 month FTC.
How You’ll Make a Difference
* Conduct consultations to assess animal health and diagnose medical conditions
* Perform routine and complex surgical procedures (e.g. neutering, soft tissue surgery)
* Prescribe and administer medications and treatments
* Carry out diagnostic tests such as blood work, imaging (X-rays, ultrasound), and lab analysis
* Provide preventative healthcare advice (vaccinations, parasite control, nutrition)
* Maintain accurate clinical records in compliance with regulatory requirements
* Communicate clearly with pet owners regarding diagnoses, treatment plans, and costs
* Handle emergency and critical care cases when required
* Ensure high standards of animal welfare, hygiene, and clinical governance
* Work collaboratively with veterinary nurses and support staff
Working hours: Monday to Friday 8:00 am – 6:00 pm.
You Might Be a Great Fit If…
* A Veterinary degree and registration with the RCVS with significant experience in small or mixed animal practice, with advanced surgical and medical capability
* Proven experience in mentoring, coaching, and supporting veterinary colleagues
* Strong leadership, communication, and decision‑making skills
* Experience contributing to or leading clinical governance, audits, and quality improvement initiatives
* The ability to manage clinical complaints and provide professional guidance in complex situations
