Job Description:
Woodside Group – Charley Road Leicestershire
SEN English Teacher (Autism)
Full time and Permanent, Term Time Only
Starting from £34,121 (actual salary)
To start as soon as possible
At Woodside, we specialise in educating young people with an Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). This is an exciting opportunity to join our expanding team and work in our wonderful school with our exceptional students and staff.
Your New Role:
We are currently looking to appoint a SEN English Teacher to join our team at our outdoor setting for students aged 11-19 near Loughborough, on a full-time, permanent basis.
We seek a passionate individual experienced in developing children according to their academic and pastoral plans. The successful candidate will deliver group sessions in a specifically designed base that fosters a homely environment, nurturing students emotionally and academically.
Outdoor learning is integral to our approach. The candidate should advocate for outdoor learning and incorporate it into lessons, supporting pupils in processing new information tailored to their autism manifestations.
Experience:
Minimum 2 years working with children and young people with Autism Spectrum Conditions and at least 1 year as a teacher.
Working Hours:
* Monday - Friday (08:30am-15:30pm)
* Term Time Only, 190 contact days
* 5 inset days
About The Woodside Group:
Our mission is to provide a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment where children with ASC can find enjoyment and access their own timetables, reaching their full potential academically and vocationally, with a pathway to independence after age 19.
We are a growing community with sites in Leicestershire, Warwickshire, and Worcestershire, with plans for expansion. Some of our provisions have been rated OFSTED Outstanding.
We focus on individual learning journeys, fostering lifelong learning and societal contribution. Interested candidates are encouraged to visit us for a firsthand experience.
How to apply:
