Position Overview As a Concrete Repair Operative, you will be responsible for the restoration and maintenance of rail-side structures, including bridges, tunnels, retaining walls, and platforms. This is a technical role that requires precision to ensure the structural integrity and longevity of critical rail assets. Detailed Duties and Responsibilities Surface Preparation: Using mechanical tools (breakers, grinders, or grit-blasting) to remove degraded concrete and expose reinforcement steel. Steel Reinforcement Treatment: Cleaning and applying anti-corrosion coatings to rebar. Repair Application: Mixing and applying specialist repair mortars (hand-placed or flowable) to meet engineering specifications. Finishing: Levelling, smoothing, and curing repaired sections to match existing profiles. Injections: (Where required) Carrying out resin or grout injections to seal structural cracks. Site Safety: Working strictly under the direction of the COSS and ensuring all specialist chemicals and tools are stored and used according to COSHH guidelines. Candidate Requirements To be successful in this role, you must meet the following criteria: Valid PTS (Personal Track Safety): Essential for working within the rail boundary. CSCS Card: Blue (Skilled Worker) in a relevant trade is highly preferred.
