Job Overview:
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Breakfast Chef to join our team at Heronston Hotel in BRIDGEND, a busy hotel known for offering exceptional breakfast experiences. This part-time position requires working from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, 5 days a week, ensuring our guests enjoy fresh and delicious breakfasts to start their day. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality breakfast dishes, ensuring smooth operations during breakfast service.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook a variety of breakfast dishes, including eggs, pancakes, sausages, pastries, and other breakfast items, adhering to hotel standards.
* Ensure efficient and timely service to guests during peak breakfast hours.
* Maintain cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations.
* Manage stock levels and ensure ingredients are fresh and available for daily use.
* Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth service, and communicate with the front of house when needed.
* Prepare meals for special dietary requirements (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, etc.).
* Assist with menu planning and contribute to developing new breakfast items when required.
* Ensure consistent presentation and quality of all breakfast dishes.
* Safely handle and maintain kitchen equipment and cleanliness.
Skills and Qualifications:
* Proven experience as a breakfast chef or similar role, ideally in a fast-paced kitchen environment, preferably within a hotel.
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure during peak hours while maintaining high standards.
* Strong knowledge of breakfast food preparation and cooking techniques.
* Understanding of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen health & safety regulations.
* Excellent time management and organizational skills.
* Ability to work early morning shifts from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, occasionally until 2.00pm if required.
* Culinary certification or equivalent is a plus, but not required.
