Location; Eaglescliffe Station
Salary; £23,121.11 per annum
Hours; Rota basis working across 7 day period
About the role:
As a Station Customer Service Assistant you will be responsible for providing a highly visible great customer experience at Eaglescliffe station ensuring the safety and security of station users.
Duties will consist of offering a range of rail ticket products, supporting travel information, customer assistance including those with mobility impairments and station presentation duties.
What You’ll Do:
1. Deliver a high level of customer service with focus on Grand Central’s Brand Drivers
2. Provide a highly visible station presence including, where appropriate, train side attendance for Grand Central arrivals and departures
3. Retail the full range of rail tickets
4. Process refunds as appropriate
5. Provide customer support and information during periods of disruption
6. Maintain a safe and tidy environment, ensuring the station is clean, safe and secure at all times.
7. Where required, account for continuity stock and associated sales and administration returns.
8. Assist customers with luggage and those that have mobility impairments.
What You Bring:
9. Flexibility – shift patterns of the role is on a rota basis which covers a 7 day operation with earliest starts from 07:00 and latest finish 17:30
10. Customer Service – you will be a great face to face communicator with previous experience working within a busy customer service environment
11. Proactive – you have experience working on your own with the ability to stay calm under pressure whilst maintaining safety at all times
12. Problem Solver – You can tackle any challenge with a smile and find solutions when things get tricky.
13. Although not essential good geographical knowledge of the passenger railway would be beneficial
