The Royal Care Home is seeking a dedicated and experienced Chef to join our friendly team. It is a three day a week permanent position, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 8am to 6pm including breaks. You will play a vital role in providing nutritious, well-balanced, and appetising meals for our residents, catering to a variety of dietary needs and preferences.
Responsibilities:
* Prepare and cook meals to a high standard, ensuring variety and nutrition.
* Plan menus in line with residents' dietary requirements (including allergies, cultural needs, and medical conditions).
* Ensure safe food storage, preparation, and service in compliance with Food Hygiene and Health & Safety regulations.
* Maintain a clean, organised, and well-stocked kitchen.
* Work collaboratively with care staff to support residents' wellbeing through tailored meal plans.
* Monitor stock levels and place orders where required, working within budget.
* Support special occasions with appropriate menus (e.g. birthdays, holidays, cultural events).
Requirements:
* Previous experience as a Chef or Cook (care home or healthcare setting preferred, but not essential).
* Knowledge of dietary needs for older adults.
* Food Hygiene Certificate (Level 2 or above).
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong organisational and communication skills.
