SURVEY TECHNICIAN, RENEWABLES
Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a Survey Technician to join our team. This position will assist Professional Surveyors with CAD production, survey research, boundary analysis, exhibit preparation, legal description preparation, and survey computations.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assist Professional Surveyors with CAD production, survey research, boundary analysis, exhibit preparation, legal description preparation, and survey computations.
2. Process raw field data using Trimble Business Center and Civil 3D.
3. Perform QA/QC checks.
4. Coordinate and collaborate with field crews and office staff.
5. Ensure division, regional, and company values, policies, and practices are consistently followed.
6. Lead by example with good judgment, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
Required Skills
* Strong listening, writing, and verbal communication skills.
* Knowledge of ALTA surveys, boundary analysis, topographic surveys, exhibit and legal description preparation, plat preparation, and field crew support.
* Ability to operate AutoCAD Civil 3D for production activities.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, support project coordination, and interact with design services.
* Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
* Ability to perform well in a fast-paced, growth environment.
Preferred Experience
* Associate Degree in Surveying, Engineering Technology, or related field.
* SIT or CST Certification or ability to become a Professional Surveyor.
* Experience with Wind, Solar, and Power Delivery projects.
* Experience coordinating with office personnel and field surveyors.
* Field experience in locating and recovering land survey monuments.
* Willingness to travel and work on project sites or at other Westwood offices.
* Experience with survey field equipment.
