The Role
Your primary responsibility will be to support the delivery of synthetic environments for MBS training and assurance exercises in Portsmouth, other UK sites and overseas. You will lead configuration, setup, testing and deployment of the synthetic environment, ensuring milestone delivery and quality standards are met. Reporting to the MCAST Technical Delivery Manager, you will manage technical tasks, resources and daily simulation activities within cost and time constraints.
Tasks Include
* Creation of the synthetic environment for exercise delivery.
* Attending and supporting project meetings and working groups (IPC, MPC, FPC).
* Planning and delivering exercise scenarios and databases.
* Developing training materials for LOCON training on CAX tools.
* Co‑ordinating with the IT Administrator to design and deliver suitable IT infrastructure.
* Liaising with simulation tool providers for upgrades and continual improvement.
* Planning and implementing maintenance, testing and acceptance activities for continual improvement.
* Leading the delivery team during exercise execution: training users, managing the environment, updating scenarios/databases, and supporting AAR activity.

* Experience across synthetic environments – configuration, deployment, testing, user training.
* Understanding of terrain generation, tools and data sources.
* Hardware setup and configuration.
* Network configuration and lay‑down.
* Military knowledge and context.
* Task planning and prioritisation.
* Excellent organisational, multi‑tasking and adaptive problem‑solving skills.
* Effective communication – efficient, diplomatic, concise.
* Reporting to senior command.
* Expertise in the MS Office Suite.
