About the Role: We are looking for an experienced Senior Therapeutic Support Worker to join our team and provide therapeutic care to children and young people in a residential setting. You will support the management of the care home, guide a team of support workers, and ensure the needs of the children and young people are met in a safe, nurturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead shifts and supervise staff, ensuring the delivery of high-quality care.
Provide direct support to children and young people, promoting their emotional, physical, and psychological well-being.
Support household tasks, including cooking, shopping, and promoting independent living skills.
Ensure the children’s rights are respected, creating a safe and supportive environment.
Administer medication as required and contribute to care planning and risk assessments.
Lead by example in maintaining therapeutic principles and effective behaviour management strategies.
Work alongside educational staff and professionals to support children’s educational and social needs.
Ensure safeguarding procedures are followed, promoting the welfare and safety of the children in care.
Maintain effective communication with internal and external stakeholders, including social workers, families, and relevant agencies.
Requirements:
Completed Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (England).
At least 2 years of experience working with young people in a residential or similar setting.
Experience in managing and motivating a team.
Over 21 years old.
Full UK driving license and access to a car.
Willingness to work 24-hour shifts, including sleepovers and waking nights.
Successful applicants will undergo an enhanced DBS check and provide satisfactory references.
