A friendly and nurturing nursery setting in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a caring and enthusiastic Nursery Assistant to join their team. This Nursery Assistant role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting early years development and creating a positive start to children’s education.
The successful Nursery Assistant will support children aged 0–5 in their learning, play and personal development. As a Nursery Assistant, you will work closely with the nursery team to deliver engaging activities aligned with the EYFS framework, ensuring a safe, stimulating and inclusive environment for all children.
Key Responsibilities of the Nursery Assistant:
* Supporting daily routines, play-based learning and structured activities.
* Assisting with personal care and promoting independence.
* Observing and recording children’s progress.
* Encouraging positive behaviour and social development.
* Maintaining a safe and welcoming nursery environment.
* Working collaboratively with colleagues and parents.
The Ideal Nursery Assistant Will:
* Have previous experience working within an early years setting.
* Have a good understanding of the EYFS framework.
* Be patient, nurturing and energetic.
* Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
* Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
* Have a fully checkable work history.
This Nursery Assistant role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must satisfy safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
