Job Summary
Britain’s energy system is changing rapidly, and ensuring gas remains secure, affordable and resilient has never been more important. Ofgem is looking for a Senior Policy Manager to help shape how gas supply is maintained today, while supporting the transition to Net Zero in the years ahead.

You will contribute to work that spans security of supply, wholesale markets and system operation, helping inform decisions that affect households, businesses and communities across Great Britain.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead the development and implementation of policy that enhances gas security of supply.
* Provide evidence-based advice on strategic priorities, risks, trade‑offs, and impacts to senior leaders across government, industry, and regulator.
* Deliver projects on challenging deadlines, coordinating with technical, legal, and analytical teams.
* Communicate complex policy issues to non-expert audiences and shape stakeholder engagement.
Person Specification
* Demonstrable expert knowledge and experience in GB, European and global energy system markets, especially pipeline gas, LNG and gas storage.
* Proven experience in identifying and collating stakeholder views to develop and prioritise strategic solutions.
* Experience designing and articulating strategic priorities and influencing senior leaders to align on future actions.
* Strong track record of managing projects in fast-paced, dynamic environments.
* Collaboration skills with analytical, technical and legal professionals.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Experience working on consultancy, government, policy, regulatory or energy sector projects.
* Knowledge of Ofgem’s role and the consumer needs it serves.

Alongside a base salary of £47,895, Ofgem contributes £13,875 towards your Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme. Job Details
Full-time, Permanent. Locations: Cardiff, Glasgow, London (hybrid work, ~20% in office).
