What you'll be doing each day
* Carry out functional assessments with claimants face‑to‑face, via video and telephone to assess their ability to undertake activities of daily living.
* Ask focused questions and use active listening and critical reasoning skills to gather accurate information.
* Produce high‑quality, structured clinical reports on all claimants assessed for submission to the DWP.
* Review evidence, request and evaluate additional evidence when required and clinically triage cases to determine the correct assessment pathway.
* Work alongside other highly experienced clinical colleagues to ensure high‑quality & fair assessments for all claimants.
Who we're looking for
* NMC‑registered adult nurses (RGN, RMN, RNLD) or HCPC‑registered physiotherapists, occupational therapists and paramedics or GPhC‑registered pharmacists.
* Have a minimum of 12 months post‑qualification & registration experience, having practiced as a clinician in the UK for the last 12 months.
* For pharmacists, NHS band 6 and band 7 applicants with a minimum of 18 months experience.
* Excellent communication and critical‑thinking skills, confident typing and computer use.

* Is open to a formalised training programme to become a DWP approved Functional Assessor.

* Has confidence in using computers and is willing to learn different software packages for detailed reports.
* Thrives in a structured working environment and uses clinical skills in a new way.
This role may not be the best match if you are:
* Uncomfortable with technology.
* Dislike writing detailed reports.
* Prefer a more hands‑on approach to clinical care.
* Not looking for a new direction in your clinical career or for a retraining period.
* Do not enjoy working in an environment with targets.
* Are not looking for a role that requires on‑site work for three days a week.
