Your Role as an HGV Technician in Reading
As a key HGV Technician, you will be responsible for ensuring the safety and operational readiness of the Mercedes-Benz fleet. You will be a vital member of the team, carrying out both routine and complex repair work in Reading.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform major and minor repairs, general preventive maintenance, and regular inspections on trucks.
Work closely with the repair teams to help diagnose faults and plan effective repairs.
Maintain accurate records of repaired vehicles using appropriate workshop systems (Keyloop/Kerridge).
Carry out essential tasks such as wheel alignment and tyre fitting.
What You Need to Be a Successful Mechanic
We are seeking a proactive HGV Mechanic and dedicated Technician for this specialized HGV Technician position in Reading.
You must be Level 3 qualified (NVQ, City and Guilds, or IMI Qualification) in HGV Vehicle Repair and Maintenance.
Proven experience carrying out diagnostic and service repairs is essential.
Ability to identify worn and faulty components in accordance with DVSA Standards.
Must hold a current, full UK driving licence for the relevant vehicle classes.
