Position Overview
Ithaca Energy is accepting applications for the position of Petroleum Engineer, located in our Aberdeen Office.
Perform petroleum engineering work across the Cygnus asset within a multi-disciplinary subsurface team in close collaboration with the asset operational team.
Responsibilities
Responsible for providing petroleum engineering support for the Cygnus asset. This includes but is not limited to:
* Monitoring of well production data and conducting rate/ pressure transient analysis to identify performance trends and opportunities to optimize production.
* Work with and provide advice to operational team(s) to ensure appropriate well management and optimization of production.
* Lead the identification, evaluation and maturation of production enhancement an optimization opportunities to add reserves and realize locked in potential.
* Analyse and model production systems, including well inflow, tubing, flowlines and surface facilities.
* Prepare and document production forecasts, primarily for the short-term forecasting process and to support investment decisions and business planning using decline curves and network models.
* Providing technical support for new well planning, completions design and execution, including, upper and lower completion, well testing and sampling operations.
* Recommendation and design of well intervention and stimulation programmes to improve or restore production and collaborate with operational teams to execute interventions safely and effectively.
* Data acquisition planning eg PVT, PBU, sampling and other operations to validate well performance and production predictions.
* When required, act as technical project manager and interface between reservoir, exploration, drilling, completion, engineering, operational and asset teams for instance for well clean ups and stimulations.
* Ensure that all relevant information is stored appropriately, identifying issues and propose improvements to the asset team databases.

* Ensures that all activities are carried out in a safe manner complying with all regulatory requirements, legislation, and Ithaca Energy HSEQ procedures.
* Acts in compliance with Company policies and values at all times.
Qualifications & Experience
* BSc degree in an engineering discipline, preferably petroleum engineering and relevant petroleum engineering experience
* PhD or MSc degree in an engineering discipline, preferably petroleum engineering is desired
* Willing to occasionally travel to Offshore Production and Drilling installations
* Proficiency with production databases and surveillance software such as OFM and well testing software such as Saphire Kappa is desired.
* Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of technical disciplines – strong interpersonal skills are essential.
* Able to simplify, make arguments and present confidently to a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
* Multi-tasking, prioritisation and an ability to be reactive to urgent deadlines and changing deliverables.
* Self-starter who can take ownership and demonstrate leadership to deliver technical studies and tasks.
* Be able to work in a cross disciplinary environment on multiple projects, simultaneously.
* Ability to present results and influence decisions to internal and external stakeholders
* Fluent in English (oral and written)
* Demonstratable track record in petroleum or production engineering
* Experience in well performance monitoring, pressure transient analysis, well inflow/ outflow modelling, nodal analysis and network modelling
* Knowledge of production operations and well planning & execution is desired
* Experience of working on producing assets in an operated environment
* Experience in working in multi-disciplinary teams.
