Here at Yorkshire Water we are looking for a Contract Technician to join our Commercial - Operations team. This role will initially be based in Bradford and will move to Leeds Valley Park in summer 2026. It is a permanent 37‑hour week (Monday‑Friday).

We ensure clean and safe drinking water for over 5.4 million residents and visitors in Yorkshire. We protect the environment and provide essential water and wastewater services around the clock. The Commercial – Operations team supports these objectives by delivering value, performance, and compliance.
Where you fit in
* Work with the team to deliver excellent performance and link personal contributions to team objectives.
* Identify and progress opportunities for cost reductions or increased efficiency and effectiveness.
* Ensure effective administration and maintenance of contract records and documentation such as insurance.
* Provide commercial data and contribute to the preparation of financial reports.
* Support team members and wider Yorkshire Water/partner teams with technical and performance data.
* Maintain professional relationships with contractors, suppliers, and stakeholders.
* Ensure high standards and performance in health and safety.
* Demonstrate financial awareness when making day‑to‑day business decisions.
* Support commercial processes for mini tenders under the frameworks.
* Support service escalation to maintain high service levels during extreme weather, major asset failure, and elevated customer contacts.
* Drive excellent health and safety standards and comply with the Yorkshire Water Safety Policy.
* Provide support to other teams in the Contract Management functions.
* Coordinate regular and ad‑hoc meetings.
* Support audit and assurance activity.
* Demonstrate relentless drive, energy and determination to achieve team objectives.

* Experience of understanding how your role fits within a business plan and delivering the required outputs.

* Experience of basic financial management including budget tracking.

* Previous experience in the water or wastewater sectors or within broader utilities, process or manufacturing industry sectors.

Working model
