Are you a skilled MET Technician looking to take the next step in your career? FMG Repair Services is seeking an experienced and motivated MET Technician to join our expert team in Exeter. If you're passionate about high-quality vehicle repair and take pride in restoring vehicles to their pre-accident condition, we want to hear from you.
What you'll be doing:
As an MET Technician, you’ll be responsible for dismantling and reassembling vehicles in accordance with prescribed repair methods, ensuring every job meets the highest standards. Key duties include:
1. Stripping and rebuilding vehicles as per estimates and repair methods.
2. Diagnosing faults and carrying out corrective work.
3. Refitting components and restoring vehicles to pre-accident condition.
4. Working closely with estimators, parts departments, and workshop control to meet deadlines.
5. Reporting additional faults and advising the VDA or Workshop Controller.
6. Maintaining detailed job card notes and ensuring all procedures are followed correctly.
7. Ensuring all parts are correctly ordered and managing returns as needed.
8. Applying a "right first time" approach to every repair.
What we're looking for:
9. Proven experience as an MET Technician in a bodyshop or vehicle repair setting.
10. Strong diagnostic and mechanical skills.
11. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet efficiency targets.
12. Full UK/EU Driving Licence (essential).
13. Industry-recognised qualifications and certifications (desirable).
14. Great communication and teamwork skills.
15. A proactive and positive approach to getting the job done.
