Job Description
* Surveying sites where electrical systems are installed
* Installing, maintaining, modifying and repairing all electrical systems in public spaces and buildings
* Ensuring that electrical systems adhere to the national electrical safety standards and regulations
* Supervising ongoing electrical system installations and providing technical expertise to installation teams where needed
* Identifying electrical problems and repairing them
* Advising the company’s management when to replace aged electrical equipment to prevent hazards
* Conducting general electrical systems maintenance and troubleshooting electrical issues with testing equipment
* Install, maintain and repair electrical control, wiring, and lighting systems
* Perform general electrical maintenance
* Inspect transformers and circuit breakers and other electrical components
* Troubleshoot electrical issues using appropriate of testing devices
* Repair and replace equipment, electrical wiring, or fixtures
* Circuit breaker corrective maintenance
* Good knowledge of heating and air conditioning systems
* Good knowledge of various test equipment
* Experience working as an electrician
* Deep electrical system, power generation, blueprints and maintenance and repair knowledge
* Experience in renewable energy field.
Qualifications
* One main trade qualification (or time served trades experience) e.g. NVQ 2, NVQ 3
* Experience in testing, inspection, and maintenance of electrical installations
* An appropriate knowledge of health and safety legislation
* Have current Health & Safety Training certificates (including, but not limited to, Asbestos Awareness, Working at Height, Manual Handling, Risk Assessments)
* Extensive domestic electrical experience (preferably from a social housing environment)
* Demonstrate a high level of customer care
* Up-to-date electrician’s licence.
* 2-3 years residential, commercial or industrial electrical experience.
* Experience with new builds, renovations and historical restoration projects.
* Associate’s degree in electrical technology preferred.
* High school diploma or GCSE.
