Job Description:Carpentry-Biased Multi-Skilled OperativeJob Description:Abstract Recruitment is currently seeking experienced Multi-Trade Operatives for an exciting opportunity with a reputable client, covering Newbury, Reading, and Basingstoke.This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position offering a salary of £36,000 £38,000 per year, with working hoursMonday to Friday, 8:00am 5:00pm.Role OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and reliable multi-skilled carpenter to join our team. The role involves working primarily in tenanted social housing properties across Newbury, Reading, Basingstoke or along the M3/M4 corridor, delivering high-quality maintenance repairs.Key ResponsibilitiesCarrying out carpentry works to a high standard (core skill)Wall tilingGeneral decorating (prep, painting, finishing)Basic plumbing tasks (e.g., sink connections, tap fitting)Installation of latex screeds and vinyl flooringEnsuring all work is completed safely, cleanly, and to tenant satisfactionWorking respectfully in occupied (tenanted) propertiesEssential Skills & ExperienceProven experience in:Carpentry/joinery (primary trade)Tiling and decoratingBasic plumbingFloor preparation and vinyl layingExperience working in social housing / tenanted environments (important)Ability to manage work efficiently with minimal supervisionStrong attention to detail and qualityRequirementsFull, clean UK driving licenceGood communication skills (especially when dealing with tenants)Ability to work both independently and as part of a teamPositive, professional, and enthusiastic attitudeApplicants are expected to have the tools required to complete the task.Personal AttributesReliable and punctualRespectful when working in customers homesTeam-orientedWilling to learn and develop skills furtherLocationNewbury and BerkshireReadingBasingstokeWhats on OfferLong-term, stable employment opportunityConsistent workloadSupportive team environmentOpportunity to grow within the companyCompany van & fuel cardTPBN1_UKTJ
