We have a fantastic opportunity for a Senior Security Advisor to provide specialist security expertise across MTC operations. This is a pivotal role ensuring compliance with national and international security requirements, managing risk, and enabling secure delivery of complex programmes.
Key Responsibilities
* Leading specialist security engagement with National and Accreditation Authorities, ensuring all security aspects are aligned and coordinated across MTC’s broader security framework.
* Advising and guiding project teams on security governance responsibilities, including compliance with UK and international security standards.
* Developing, maintaining, and implementing security plans for programmes and projects, ensuring they integrate seamlessly into MTC’s governance model.
* Enhancing and maturing MTC’s security capabilities, identifying gaps and implementing improvements to strengthen resilience.
* Coordinating with external agencies to monitor and manage security‑related risks, ensuring proactive mitigation strategies are in place.
* Establishing comprehensive security assurance arrangements, balancing risk with operational delivery to enable secure and efficient project execution.
* Acting as a trusted ambassador for MTC within Defence, Security, and Intelligence communities, promoting MTC’s capabilities and fostering strong relationships.
* Providing proactive oversight and governance, ensuring security considerations are embedded in all operational activities.
* Supporting, coaching and mentoring initiatives, helping to develop technical and leadership capability across the organisation.
* Championing a positive safety and security culture, reporting concerns and promoting best practices across all teams.
* Representing MTC in high-level discussions, influencing stakeholders and advocating for security measures that enable innovation while maintaining compliance.
Who we're Looking For
* Ability and willingness to obtain Developed Vetting (DV) security clearance.
* Extensive knowledge of MoD and UK security policy and processes.
* Proven experience applying security principles in complex, risk‑sensitive environments.
* Track record of operating at both strategic and operational levels in defence, security, or intelligence sectors.
* Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
* Ability to maintain technical competence and adapt to emerging threats and technologies.
Desirable
* NPSA training courses, Security Institute Membership, or Chartered Security Professional status.
* Experience working with UK Intelligence Community, MoD, Home Office, or Cabinet Office.
* Expertise in areas such as Protective Security Accreditation, Insider Threat, Technical Security, or Cyber threats.
