With a strong reputation for excellence, they are seeking an experienced CNC Machine Shop Manager to lead their skilled team and oversee daily operations in a busy, modern workshop.
The Role
As the CNC Machine Shop Manager, you will be responsible for managing day-to-day workshop operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are met. You’ll be a hands-on leader, involved in both technical machining and strategic management, supporting a team of CNC machinists and programmers.
Key Responsibilities:
 * 
 Oversee daily CNC machining operations within a precision engineering environment
 * 
 Manage and support a team of CNC machinists and programmers
 * 
 Plan and coordinate production schedules to meet deadlines and customer requirements
 * 
 Maintain high standards of quality and efficiency across all machining operations
 * 
 Optimise tooling, setups, and machining strategies for maximum productivity
 * 
 Conduct job planning, quoting, and workflow prioritisation
 * 
 Drive continuous improvement initiatives and ensure adherence to HSE standards
 * 
 Liaise with customers, engineers, and senior management regarding projects and technical requirements
Key Skills & Experience:
 * 
 Proven experience managing or supervising within a CNC precision engineering environment
 * 
 Strong background in CNC milling and/or turning
 * 
 Hands-on experience with Hurco 3 and 5 Axis machining centres or lathes
 * 
 Confident using WinMax controls
 * 
 Proficient with CAD/CAM programming software (e.g. Fusion 360, Edgecam, Mastercam, or similar)
 * 
 Experience working to tight tolerances in Aerospace, Defence, Oil & Gas, Rail, Marine, or Medical sectors
 * 
 Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills
 * 
 Excellent understanding of materials, tooling, and machining processes
