The Fleet Care Home is looking to recruit a Head of Unit (Residential)
Our newly refurbished care home, based in the picturesque town of Dartmouth in Devon, provides exceptional levels of residential, nursing, and palliative care for up to 79-residents.
This role is for those who want to make a real difference and help support residents and staff to reach their potential. You will be a key team player and will put residents at the heart of everything that you do.

The ideal Head of Unit (Residential) will be
A caring and motivated person.
Experience supporting older people, ideally including those living with a dementia.
Confidence and experience to lead a care team and act as champion for the wellbeing of residents.
Have a good understanding of care planning and be able to review as required.
Most importantly, you will have achieved the minimum of a Level 3 vocational qualification in Health and Social Care (either a diploma or NVQ)
Your key responsibilities will include
Providing excellent care and support to residents
Ensuring high standards are always maintained
Supervising, leading, and motivating all care assistants for the team to function efficiently
Assisting residents in all aspects of their care needs
Administering medication as instructed
Monitoring, responding, and reporting appropriately on the wellbeing of the residents and able to respond in a timely manner to any concerns.
Supporting and working with care assistants
Maintaining good communication and developing effective working relationships with other team members
