Eric Wright Civil Engineering Ltd delivers civil engineering and infrastructure projects across highways, structures, water, public realm and environmental sectors throughout the UK. The Pre-Construction Team coordinates and submits high-quality tenders and framework submissions to secure profitable and sustainable work streams.

We are seeking a proactive and motivated Tender Administrator to join our successful and growing work-winning team. You will support the successful operation of the business, pre-construction team and delivery of multiple tender submissions each month, working closely with bid writers, proposals coordinators, estimators and planners to ensure submissions are accurate, compliant and issued on time.

What You’ll Do

Provide administrative support to the Pre-Construction Team across all tender and framework activities.

Responsibilities include:

1. Administer the central pre-construction email inbox, prioritising, redirecting and allocating and undertaking email related tasks.
2. Review opportunity tracker daily and register suitable opportunities for weekly review.
3. Coordinate tender documentation from receipt through to submission and post-submission activities.
4. Maintain tender registers, trackers, submission schedules and pipeline information.
5. Compile, format and quality-check tender submission documents to ensure consistency, accuracy and compliance with client requirements.
6. Manage electronic filing systems and maintain up-to-date records of bids, correspondence, clarifications and supporting documentation.
7. Upload and download tender information from client procurement portals including frameworks and e-tendering systems.
8. Preparation of PQQs, ITTs, framework submissions, capability statements and supporting documentation.
9. Assist with the collation of CVs, case studies, project references, certificates and company information required for submissions.
10. Coordinate input from internal departments and external supply chain partners to meet tender deadlines.
11. Arrange meetings, workshops, interviews and presentation logistics associated with tender activities.
12. Prepare submission documentation including formatting, pagination, printing, binding and electronic compilation where required.
13. Support estimators and planners with document control and distribution of tender addenda and revisions.
14. Monitor clarification deadlines and assist in recording and distributing client queries and responses.
15. Maintain libraries of standard company information, policies, accreditations and bid content.
16. Support lessons learned and feedback processes following tender submissions.
17. Assist with general administrative duties within the Pre-Construction function as required.

What You’ll Bring

18. Ability to produce professional, well-structured documents to a high standard.
19. Good communication skills with the ability to liaise effectively with colleagues, clients and supply chain partners.
20. Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
21. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.
22. Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in document preparation and checking.
23. GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Maths essential; further business administration or construction-related qualifications advantageous.
24. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.
Desirable
25. Previous experience in an administrative, bid support or document control role within construction, civil engineering or infrastructure sectors.
26. Experience using online tender portals and electronic document management systems would be advantageous.
27. Understanding of tendering and pre-construction processes within a contractor environment.
28. Understanding of confidentiality and commercially sensitive information handling.
29. Awareness of the construction and civil engineering sectors, particularly public sector procurement and framework tendering, would be beneficial.
