Job Summary
Job summary: To provide a quality, efficient and effective secretarial support service to General Practitioners and Senior Management Team maintaining a professional approach at all times.
What you will be doing:
· Transcribe letters and reports via digital dictation for General Practitioners, type referral and other letters via written dictation for General Practitioners, Nurses and Management Team as required.
· Effective use of SystmOne, Choose and Book for patient referrals and all matters relating to patients. Appropriate use of Task system for communication between Practice staff members.
· Filter and disseminate Choose and Book referral information to Peterborough Local Commissioning Group at the end of each month.
· Download and mail merge referral forms from outside agencies as required; initiating and updating standard letters as required.
· Maintain effective and efficient filing systems
· Communicate with hospitals etc. via email.
· Deal with telephone queries from patients and medical personnel in a professional manner.
· Ensure that outgoing mail is prepared for mail collection service, using franking machine appropriately.
Attend and take part in team meetings and regular reviews with line manager etc. Attend meetings and participate in relevant training programmes as requested by the organisation.
· Has a responsibility to participate in regular performance review in line with department development plan.
· All staff have a responsibility to undertake statutory and mandatory training as deemed appropriate.
· Ensure adherence of Data Protection Act 1998, Caldicott and related information security issues.
