Legal Secretary – Crime Department
Location: Little Hulton
Hours: Full‑time or Part‑time (3 full days or afternoons only)
Salary: Competitive (c£27k [or pro rata equiv if part time] dependent on experience)
About the Role
Our client, a well‑established and respected law firm based in Little Hulton, is seeking an experienced Legal Secretary to join their busy Crime Department. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly organised and proactive individual to provide essential administrative and secretarial support within a fast‑paced legal environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Providing full secretarial support to fee earners within the Crime Department
* Audio and copy typing of legal documents and correspondence
* Preparing legal documentation and court bundles
* Managing diaries, appointments, and court schedules
* Handling client enquiries professionally, both by telephone and in person
* Opening and maintaining client files in line with compliance procedures
* Liaising with courts, barristers, clients, and external agencies
* General administrative duties to support the department
Candidate Requirements
* Previous Legal Secretary experience is highly desirable (ideally within criminal law)
* Strong audio typing and document formatting skills
* Excellent organisational and time‑management abilities
* Professional and confident communication skills
* Ability to work efficiently under pressure and meet deadlines
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and case management systems
Working Hours
Full‑time or part‑time options available:
* 3 full working days per week, or
* Every afternoon (hours to be agreed)
