We are currently seeking a passionate and resilient SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) Teacher to join a dedicated specialist education setting in Blackpool. This is a full-time, term-time position offering a salary range of £31,650 – £43,606 per annum. This is a temp-to-perm opportunity for the right candidate.
About the Role
You will be responsible for delivering Functional Skills across a broad curriculum to students aged 11–16 who present with a range of SEMH needs. The role will involve creating a nurturing and structured environment where pupils can thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
* Plan and deliver high-quality Functional Skills lessons tailored to individual learning needs.
* Develop and implement behaviour strategies that support positive learning outcomes.
* Create a calm and engaging classroom environment that supports students' SEMH development.
* Assess, track, and report on pupil progress.
* Work collaboratively with support staff, SENCOs, and external agencies.
* Maintain a strong safeguarding culture and uphold the highest standards of pastoral care.
What We're Looking For
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) and PGCE are essential.
* Experience teaching Functional Skills or a willingness to adapt experience to this area.
* A deep understanding of SEMH needs and trauma-informed practice.
* Excellent communication and classroom management skills.
* A flexible and solution-focused approach.
