Programme Construction Lead - Aldermaston, Berkshire, RG7 4PR

Salary: £75,000 - £90,000 per annum + Pension

Let us introduce the role: AWE is currently recruiting for a Programme Construction Lead responsible for providing strategic leadership and management of professional engineering services, supporting the CASD Programme and the company's strategic goals. You will act as a focal point for construction advice, information, and expertise regarding policy, best practices, knowledge, and standards. Ensure governance and management to meet relevant Nuclear Licence Conditions, safety codes, and quality standards.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
1. Experience in a strategic construction leadership role, with responsibility for developing team members, meeting project targets, and maintaining high health and safety standards.
2. Strong commercial experience with construction contracting, especially NEC and ECI contracts.
3. Experience with construction quality protocols, systems, and methodologies, including logistics.
4. Ability to articulate technical complexities clearly and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
5. Experience in chairing technical and general meetings and directing work to meet strategic program demands.
6. Ability to align and influence construction project delivery strategies with broader business objectives.
7. Experience delivering construction management capabilities in manufacturing and/or research environments.
8. Good understanding of relevant safety legislation and standards (e.g., HSAWA, CDM).
9. Experience leading multi-disciplinary groups, resolving conflicts, and fostering collaboration.
10. Knowledge of construction supply chain methodologies, including modern DFMA technologies.
11. Proficiency in working as an Intelligent Customer (IC).
12. Knowledge of construction systems from design to commissioning.
13. Degree in engineering, construction management, or a related field.
14. Relevant safety certifications (e.g., SMSTS, NEBOSH Construction, CSCS or equivalent).
15. Professional registration at Fellow or Chartered level with a recognized professional body.
