Job description
We are currently seeking a Manager/Care Coordinator for our supported accommodation service for 16- and 17-year-olds.
This role requires the successful applicant to register with Ofsted and demonstrate the ability to lead and manage teams effectively, delivering a high-quality service aligned with the organisation's ethos.
Key responsibilities include:
* Developing and implementing individualised support plans tailored to each young person's needs
* Ensuring healthcare providers are kept informed and up to date
* Collaborating with families, friends, andcaretakers to share relevant information and promote continuity of care
* Maintaining accurate and up-to-date records for all service users
* Linking service users to community programmes and entitlements, such as housing services and self-management initiatives
* Promoting effective partnership working across agencies and stakeholders
The Manager will work closely with the Deputy Manager to ensure consistent service delivery, staff support, and compliance with regulatory standards.
Young People
Contribute to the assessment of individual young people's needs and circumstances inline with Ofsted Guide to supported accommodation regulations and quality standards.
Oversee the role of the service manager, Team Leader and support workers.
Provide effective oversight of the Supported Accommodation services.
Contribute to the planning, implementation, and evaluation of therapeutic programmes to enable individual young people to manage their behaviour and develop their independence skills.
Prepare, implement, and evaluate agreed therapeutic activities
Review children/young people's individual needs and circumstances in line with statutory and departmental requirements
Support young people and, to some extent, their families to address issues which affect their health and social well-being
Promote young people's social and emotional development
Promote young people's sensory and intellectual development
Promote young peoples independent living skills to gain more skills to move onto living independently.
Represent young people's interests when they are not able to do so themselves
Establish and maintain relationships with parents, families and key professionals.
Support young people experiencing a change in their care requirements and provision
Enable young people to maintain their personal hygiene and appearance
Partnership Working
Promote effective, professional communication and relationships with partners
Act as an advocate to ensure the best possible outcome for the young person
Establish and sustain working relationships with others
Staff Development
Promote and facilitate supervision, probation appraisal processes
Actively participate in personal supervision and appraisal
Promote and participate in training and staff development opportunities
Ensure the development and effectiveness of work teams
General
Carry out organisational objectives in line with relevant legislation and Ofsted Quality Standards and Regulations.
Implement the development / service plan for the supported accommodation service.
Comply with administrative and financial procedures.
Maintain accurate, professional records in line with national guidelines
Fully utilise the IT facilities
Promote, monitor, and maintain health, safety, and security at work in line with the relevant legislation
Contribute to the development and maintenance of an environment and ethos where all people are respected and valued as individuals.
Essential Criteria -
The right candidate must have a NVQ level 5 in leadership and management, or working towards completing.
Thorough understanding of Ofsted and the regulations and legislations that set the standards within a supported accommodation - Ability to showcase leadership and management skills
A minimum of 2 years experience within the last 5 years being a manager or in a leadership role within a residential setting, with either Children or Adults
