Offer description

Two Pints Deep seeks a Chair to lead our board of 4 (finance/data/sales). We need non-profit governance expertise to manage rapid growth through high-level oversight. Help us scale sustainably, mentor the board, and lead subcommittees to save lives and strengthen men's mental health.

What difference will you make?

Professionalising Our Governance

While our current board is commercially strong in finance and data, your non-profit and board-level experience will provide the high-level oversight we need to navigate charity law and regulatory responsibilities. You will ensure that as we scale, we remain compliant, transparent, and trusted by the public.

Sustainable Strategic Growth

We have proven the demand for our work, but rapid growth brings risk. You will help us

Establish Guardrails Setting the strategic direction and monitoring progress via frameworks like the Theory of Change.
Strengthen the Executive Acting as a "critical friend" to our Founder & CEO, providing the constructive challenge necessary to lead a maturing organization.
Build Resilience Leading the board to ensure we are financially resilient and prepared for the long term.

Amplifying Our Impact

Ultimately, your leadership allows our frontline team to focus on what they do best saving lives. By acting as a credible ambassador and ensuring robust internal systems, you give our donors and partners the confidence to invest in our future, directly increasing the number of men we can reach

What are we looking for?

Our ideal Chair is an experienced senior leader who can provide the high-level strategic oversight necessary to guide Two Pints Deep through its next phase of rapid, sustainable growth. While our current board is commercially strong in finance, data, and sales, we are specifically looking for an individual with significant non-profit or board-level experience.

Essential Skills & Experience

The most critical requirement for this role is a deep understanding of charity governance and trustee responsibilities. You should have a proven track record of

Board Leadership Experience chairing meetings and building consensus among diverse perspectives to ensure discussions are focused and inclusive.
Strategic Oversight The ability to move beyond day-to-day operations to focus on long-term sustainability, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Constructive Challenge Serving as a "critical friend" to our Founder & CEO, providing the guidance and accountability needed as a founder-led organization matures.

Lived Experience & Values

We are looking for someone who shares our "down-to-earth" values and has a genuine commitment to improving men's mental health. While not mandatory, we highly value candidates with lived experience—either personally or through their professional networks—of the challenges men face in accessing non-clinical mental health support.

Desirable Expertise

Experience in scaling organizations sustainably or a background in the health and social impact sectors would be highly beneficial. Ideally, you will be comfortable helping us refine frameworks like our Theory of Change and impact reporting to ensure our growth remains mission-aligned.

Ultimately, you are a steady, experienced hand who ca help us professionalize our internal "scaffolding" so that we can continue to save lives and strengthen communities

What will you be doing?

About The Board & Your Role

Two Pints Deep is at a pivotal turning point. Following a breakout first year—delivering over 120 activities and achieving national visibility—we are transitioning from a high-energy startup into a mature, sustainable organization. Our current Board consists of four trustees with strong professional backgrounds in finance, data, and sales. While this provides a robust commercial foundation, we are now seeking a Chair who brings specific non-profit leadership and governance expertise to the table.

Challenges & Strategic Goals

We operate with a focus on high-level oversight rather than day-to-day operations. As we move into the next 12 months, our defining challenge is managing rapid growth. Our goal is to ensure this expansion is sustainable and values-led, without compromising the quality or safety of our grassroots work.

The incoming Chair will be instrumental in

Professionalising Governance Bringing a deep understanding of trustee responsibilities and charity law to ensure we remain compliant as we scale.
Strategic Guardrails Working with the Board and CEO to refine our Theory of Change and impact reporting to prove our model works at scale.
Founder Support Serving as a "critical friend" and sounding board for our Founder & CEO during this intense period of organizational change.

Specific Responsibilities

Beyond general Board leadership, the Chair will be responsible for

Meeting Excellence Chairing monthly virtual meetings to ensure discussions are focused, inclusive, and result in clear accountability.
Subcommittee Leadership Overseeing the potential formation of a Governance or Risk subcommittee to manage our evolving regulatory needs.
Mentorship Using your previous Board-level experience to mentor our current trustees and foster a culture of constructive challenge.

Why This Role Matters

Men's mental health is a national crisis, and Two Pints Deep is on the front lines, creating non-clinical spaces where men actually feel able to open up. This is an opportunity to take a high-impact, grassroots movement and turn it into a lasting institution. You will be the steady hand that ensures we continue to save lives and strengthen communities for years to come.
