A client within the Public Sector based in the East Midlands is currently recruiting for a Highway Works Manager to join their Highways Maintenance team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority within a highway maintenance and operational delivery environment. The Role Key purpose of the role is to manage and lead frontline highway operations teams in the delivery of reactive and capital works programmes, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and adherence to health and safety standards while promoting asset management principles. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: • Overseeing daily deployment of highway operatives, vehicles, and equipment • Promoting and managing health and safety compliance across all site operations • Coordinating highway fleet, plant, and materials to support operational delivery The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require: • Experience managing highway maintenance teams or similar operational environments • Knowledge of highway construction practices, legislation, and asset management principles • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and operational asset management systems such as Confirm The below skills would be beneficial for the role: • Strong leadership and motivational skills, including performance and attendance management • Ability to carry out daily audits on staff, vehicles, and site setups • Comfortable engaging with senior managers, elected members, and external clients The client is looking to move quickly with this role and as such are offering £25 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35 (approx. £20 per hour PAYE).
