The two-year Trade Compliance Business Apprenticeship scheme provides a variety of experiences through placements in business-related disciplines, working on real projects alongside specialists in the world of business. You will rotate around our trade compliance areas gaining experience of the different work/projects specific to your department in Edinburgh.

* Discover how projects are run, managed and delivered, and liaise with customers and suppliers.
Training & Qualification
During each placement, you will study with one of our academic partners to complete a Business Level 3 Apprenticeship. You will achieve this qualification through a combination of day‑release and workplace experience.
Year 1: Through rotational placements, you will gather real work evidence such as reflective accounts describing day‑to‑day tasks and highlighting key business competencies.
Year 2: Following completion of placements, you will enter a final placement focusing on one discipline, building on your skills and knowledge to become a valuable member of the department.
You will also work towards an SVQ in Business Management (related to on‑site experience) and an HNC in Business at Edinburgh College.
Minimum Requirements
* 2 Higher Grades (or equivalent) – (A-C) Mathematics OR (A-C) English.
* Mandatory: (A-C) Business subject (examples: Business Studies, Project/Business Management, Finance, Accounts, etc.).
* English and Maths Standard Grades (1-3) / National 5 (A-C).
Starting salary: £21,000.
Security Clearance
Subject to pre-employment screening in line with the UK Government’s Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS). Additional Personnel Security Controls such as National Security Vetting (NSV) may apply.
