Quality Control Operative – Morning Shift Location: North Curry, Somerset Salary: £13.50 per hour (paid weekly) Contract Type: Temporary to Permanent Working Hours: Monday – Friday, 6:00am – 2:00pm (30-minute unpaid break) Plus: 1 in every 4 Saturdays worked, with a day off in lieu We are currently recruiting for a Quality Control Operative to join a busy and hands-on food manufacturing business based in North Curry. Reporting directly to the QC Manager, this role involves working primarily on the factory floor ensuring all food safety, quality, and compliance standards are consistently met. Key Responsibilities: Complete start-up checks across all departments Calibrate equipment including scales, probes, metal detectors, gas analysers Perform swabbing (ATP, allergens, lab sampling) Conduct product and paperwork checks Label creation and maintenance Stock checking and data logger reporting Sample prep and assisting with internal/external audits Maintain food safety and BRC compliance Participate in minute taking and spec/nutritional maintenance Carry out fridge and freezer temperature checks What We're Looking For: Comfortable working in chilled and sometimes frozen environments Willing to handle both raw and cooked chicken Ability to wear full PPE (hair net, steel toe caps, overalls – provided) Strong attention to detail and food safety procedures Excellent communication and record-keeping skills Must adhere to no jewellery, nail polish or piercings due to BRC policy Additional Info: On-site canteen facilities available (kettle, microwave, toaster) Own transport required – nearest shops are 15-minute drive Bring your own lunch – no food available for purchase on site Weekly pay and permanent opportunity for the right candidate Interested?
