Benefit Cosmetics has an exciting opportunity for a Sales Development Manager to lead the South West Region.
As a confident and dynamic individual, you will maximize all sales opportunities throughout a geographical area by developing and coaching the Account Managers and Beauty Consultants. Leading by example, your strong people management skills will help you drive the business across approximately 15 stores in your area (Bristol, Oxford, Swindon, Bath, Newbury, Trowbridge). Main responsibilities include monitoring and analyzing sales, managing performance, recruitment, training and development, and new store openings.
Responsibilities
* Discuss retail sales targets for each store with the Account Managers and monitor and analyze weekly, monthly, and quarterly sales to ensure they meet forecasts.
* Analyze new product sales to ensure all opportunities are maximized.
* Assess and improve team productivity by ensuring effective training practices are used.
Training and Development
* Identify and meet training needs in the area, liaising with the Regional Sales Manager and Training Manager for additional support.
* Continuously coach and develop the team of Account Managers and Beauty Consultants to improve area performance.
* Ensure all team members complete regular Store Visit forms with measurable objectives.
Networking
* Build and maintain good relationships with retail partners to work towards shared goals and maximize support in the field.
New Store Openings
* Coordinate with Marketing to support new stores.
* Discuss FTE requirements for each new store with the Regional Sales Manager and recruit accordingly.
* Meet with new store management prior to opening to introduce the brand and ensure the use of the New Store Opening Checklist, adhering to the critical path, especially regarding recruitment.
Communication
* Hold quarterly meetings with Account Managers to ensure new processes are implemented and best practices followed.
* Communicate daily with the Regional Sales Manager for guidance and coaching on business issues and achievements.
* Coordinate with the wider Field team and Head Office to keep everyone informed.
Budget
* Ensure all retail expenditure aligns with the budget.
Qualifications
* At least 5 years of commercial retail experience
* Strong people management skills
* Knowledge of employment law
* Good commercial awareness and business acumen
* Intermediate Excel skills
* Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
* Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
* Effective negotiation and influencing skills
