Position Overview:
Our Lambeth school is seeking a passionate, energetic, and motivated Sports Graduate Teaching Assistant to join our team on a long-term basis from September 2024 to July 2025. This role provides an excellent opportunity for a recent sports graduate or aspiring educator to gain experience within a dynamic secondary school environment and contribute to students' academic and personal development. It is particularly suitable for an aspiring PE teacher.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support the delivery of high-quality physical education lessons across key stages under the guidance of experienced teachers
* Assist with planning, preparation, and organisation of sports activities, fixtures, and extracurricular events
* Provide support to students requiring additional assistance or encouragement in PE, either one-on-one or in small groups
* Help maintain a safe, inclusive learning environment that encourages participation and progress
* Act as a positive role model, promoting teamwork, resilience, and a healthy, active lifestyle
* Collaborate with staff to assess student progress, provide feedback, and develop individualized learning plans
Qualifications and Experience:
* A degree in Sports Science, Physical Education, or a related field from a recognised university
* Experience working with young people in coaching, mentoring, or teaching roles is advantageous
* Enthusiasm for sports and physical activity, with a commitment to promoting active lifestyles
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills to motivate students from diverse backgrounds
* Excellent organisational skills and adaptability to changing priorities
* A proactive, flexible approach and willingness to contribute to the wider school community
