The Senior System Analyst is primarily responsible for providing technical and business support for customers who use DXC’s Iris underwriting system. A strong knowledge of either Iris or another mainstream London market underwriting system is required, together with an understanding of the London Market Underwriting business and processes, including message interactions with market consortiums. Good client communication skills are essential, as is the ability to produce high-quality functional specifications for software or configuration changes. This role is home-based but involves working with customers and user groups, which may require travel to customer sites. The role also requires effective communication with our development and test teams throughout the software development life cycle.
This role will also involve working on DXC’s next-generation Assure for Commercial and Specialty system, which is the upgrade path for Iris. The role will require collaboration with this team to ensure the system has the necessary functionality for London market underwriters to administer and process their business. As customers implement the system, there will be a need to work with the implementation team on product configuration, data migration, and training.
Essential Skills/Qualifications:
* Significant insurance domain knowledge of the London Insurance market processes, including Policy, Claims, and Technical Accounting.
* An understanding of messaging flows to and from underwriting systems within the London market.
* An awareness of Lloyd’s Future of Lloyd’s / Blueprint II initiatives and their impact on underwriting systems.
* Experience working within or with a General Insurance software vendor, or providing functional direction and definition for new products, modules, or features during insurance product implementation.
* Practical working knowledge of at least one computer-based London Market Underwriting system.
* Strong presentation and demonstration skills.
* Confidence in managing customer expectations and guiding the specification/review process within tight timelines; comfortable handling challenging client issues, preferably with extensive onsite experience.
* Self-motivated with high energy levels to solve problems and find innovative solutions.
Desirable Skills/Qualifications:
* Experience with one of DXC’s existing underwriting products.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
* Ability to understand complex requirements, communicate clearly in plain English, and translate them into technical specifications.
* Ability to plan, design, and recommend business process improvements.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities, including short-notice travel and attending meetings at unsociable hours.
* Ability to analyze data to investigate issues, ideally with SQL knowledge.
* Ability to test functionality systematically.
* Insurance Industry qualification (e.g., A.C.I.I.).
* Knowledge and experience of implementing insurance/reinsurance software packages, with an understanding of their strengths and weaknesses.
* Knowledge of analysis techniques, preferably using formal methodologies and relational data analysis.
* High attention to detail with strong documentation skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Willingness to travel.

* Support and advise stakeholders on product limitations and opportunities based on knowledge of the product set.
* Facilitate client meetings to gather and document requirements and explore solutions.
* Collaborate in building and updating business and functional documents per customer specifications.
* Act as an intermediary between the customer and internal teams.
* Lead and participate in internal quality reviews of solution designs.
* Assist in the design, development, review, and execution of system test scripts.
* Support project transition into support phases.
* Assist support teams as required.
