Librarian Poynton and Disley Libraries
As a librarian you will support the Library Manager in overseeing Poynton and Disley libraries, ensuring efficient and effective service delivery. Responsibilities include handling public enquiries, maintaining IT systems, supporting resource management, and deputising for senior staff when needed. The role also involves identifying customer needs, promoting library services and planning and running events for adults and children, using social media to engage the community and encourage library use. This is a part time position working an average of 12.135 hours a week, on a two timetable including alternate Saturday mornings.

🌟 About the Role
As a Librarian, you’ll support the delivery of high-quality library services across our libraries. You’ll lead on reader development, digital inclusion, and events, while also assisting with day-to-day operations and supporting staff and volunteers. You will deputise for the senior library assistant and library manager in their absence.

✅ About You
We’re looking for someone who:
8. Holds a recognised qualification in librarianship or information management (or equivalent experience).
9. Has strong communication, leadership, and organisational skills.
10. Is confident with digital technologies and library systems.
11. Can work flexibly across different locations, including evenings and weekends.
12. Is passionate about libraries and their role in the community.
The hours are 12.135 per week worked on a two week timetable including alternate Saturday mornings. The hours are as follows, but may be subject to change.
Week one: Poynton - Wednesday 9.45am - 1pm and Thursday 10am - 5pm
Week two: Poynton - Thursday 10am - 5pm, Disley - Friday 1.45pm - 6pm and Saturday 9.15am - 1pm
