Blackstone Recruitment are working with specialist SEND Schools in the North of England who are looking for a Learning Assessor / Trainer to join their team on a permanent basis. Location - Home working, hybrid - Based in North of England Overview As an educational organisation our client are growing both in the number of Schools we run and staff theyemploy. Due to this growth, they are looking for a new team member to join their internal training team to support the development of their workforce which is predominately Teaching Assistants. The potential candidate must have had experience working in an Education setting (School/College) as a Teaching Assistants or Teacher and already hold a national recognised Assessor qualification (A1/TAQA). This is a hybrid role with the candidate being based in the North of England so they can support their Northern Schools, with approximately 2 days in a School and 3 days based at home. Theyare happy to support an inexperienced assessor and help them develop their Quality Assurance skills and qualification. Main Purpose: To support their teams to fulfil their potential throughs supporting with high quality learning activities and interventions. Work with the wider team to build and deliver a range of development programmes. This includes creating resources and delivery of Workshops via Teams, Face to Face and Online content. To provide Learning Support by assessing candidates performance and/or related knowledge in a range of tasks. Ensure that the competence and/or knowledge demonstrated meet the requirements of internal and external Standards. Key Accountabilities: General: To support and build programmes in line with awarding body standards and our clients centres values Where required to deliver programs in which you have the qualifications and occupational competence to deliver To work within a team, and individually being accountable for your own work diary Good record Keeping in line with Legislation Specifics: Delivering a range of learning solutions including workshops that cover both internal and external outcomes Examining and assessing candidates' portfolios of evidence Providing feedback and offering advice and support if the standards are not met Signing off external qualifications when all the requirements have been met Keeping records of candidates' progress in line with local and National Policies and Legislation Attending standardisation meetings with other assessors/manager. Manage relationships with Key Stakeholders To deliver workshops either face to face or remotely (Nationally) To record and report on learners progress and liaise with Line Manager regularly Key Duties: Professional duties and responsibilities: Making initial contact with the candidate and maintaining regular contact throughout their development. Support in the delivery of programme Inductions and where required carry out an Initial Assessment /Pre-Interview with the candidate before commencing any internal/external awards. Ensuring that the candidate is aware of current legislation relating to them and all concerned with their assessment, especially equal opportunities, health and safety and plagiarism. Ensuring that the candidate is aware of their own responsibility with regards to the collection of evidence and taking into account any accreditation of prior learning or achievement. Explaining the assessment process fully to the candidate and others involved. Ensure the Assessing cycle is being achieved with every learner to a high standard To regularly meet with learners either face to face or remotely To complete individual Training Needs Analysis as required. Be able and competent to assess candidates using either paper or e-portfolios, against the national standards of occupational competence within the qualification Providing candidates with prompt, accurate and constructive feedback. Ensure confidentiality and GDPR is maintained in accordance with agreed policy and practice To fully understand the systems, documents and supporting materials required for internal or external accreditation. Keep up to date records, and report to Line Manager Making themselves available for discussion with those involved in the assessment process, including the internal and external verifiers and attending regular standardisation meetings. To travel and deliver training where required (Nationally) To be able to research and design workshop materials (slides, handouts) or digital learning solutions. Continually review and improve learning materials Update expertise by being involved in continuous professional development activities. To liaise with Key stakeholders To take on extra learning and development projects if required Essential criteria: Must have experience working in and hold a base qualification in Education (Equivalent to a level3 or higher). Assessor qualification A1/TAQA (or equivalent). To have a teaching Qualification PTTLS or equivalent or willing to work towards Excellent communication skills both verbal and written Good level of literacy and numeracy (at least 5 GCSEs above 4 or equivalent, to include English and Maths) or to have an equivalent. Computer literacy Excel, Word, Outlook with the ability and willingness to learn to use of a range IT systems Organised, good time management. Able to Prioritise workload High levels of interpersonal ability with excellent written and verbal communication. Able to work as part of a team and individually as some work will be lone working. Work collaboratively with other staff and professionals with good interpersonal skills. Confidential and reliable. Requirements for the role: Eligibility to work within the UK. To have an up-to-date Enhanced DBS Disclosure. Valid driving licence and access to vehicle as required. Mileage and business expenses will be paid in accordance with HRMC guidance and the Aurora Expense policy. This role will be home based with an expectation of regular travel between national locations to meet face to face with Learners, run workshops or attend meetings as required. You will be expected to manage your own diary, appointments and meeting to achieve your business objectives. The ability to work as part of a team and support colleagues when necessary.
