I am currently looking for a Business Development Director for a global full-service clinical Contract Research Organization with a strong reputation, stable client base, and consistent growth. This is a newly created, remote role working with a high-performance international team. You will be responsible for securing new business and managing accounts within pharma, biotech, and medical device sectors across various therapeutic areas such as oncology, CNS, renal, and rare diseases. The ideal candidate will have a hunter mentality, a strong network, and a proven sales record in the UK/western European region, selling comprehensive CRO solutions.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Achieving sales and business development targets
* Developing and implementing business strategies for target markets
* Prospecting to build a pipeline of opportunities and RFPs
* Using Salesforce to track client activities and opportunities
* Leading the sales process from lead generation to closure
* Managing proposal development to meet client expectations
* Redefining profitable market niches based on evidence
* Collaborating with marketing to support business development
* Providing input on sales targets and strategies
* Supporting pre-sales activities and resource allocation
* Engaging with agents and consultants in other regions
* Maximizing opportunities through internal research staff
* Attending conferences and trade shows to generate leads
