What the Job Involves As a Housing Solutions Officer, you will be a key member of the statutory prevention and relief housing service. Your role involves assessing housing needs, providing advice, and devising personalized housing plans to prevent homelessness. You will maintain up-to-date knowledge of housing legislation, benefits, and support services. You will be responsible for decision-making processes and maintaining accurate records. Additionally, you will participate in duty rotas for emergency and out-of-hours services and contribute to the Council’s Homelessness & Rough Sleeping Strategy. Skills Knowledge of homelessness and housing legislation Understanding of welfare benefits and reforms Experience with housing software systems Excellent customer service and communication skills Ability to manage conflicting workloads Proficient in PC software including Word and Excel Capability to compile statistical data Strong problem-solving skills Valid full driving license and vehicle for business use Willingness to work outside normal hours
