Role Summary and Purpose
The main purpose of the role is to support the Risk Function’s business risk partners to ensure the operation of an effective and robust enterprise risk management framework across Arch’s Lloyd’s, London Market and UK P&C businesses.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
1. Support in the ongoing development and maintenance of the entity risk registers.
2. Assist with the review of risk policies.
3. Support the business risk partners in the quarterly risk assessments, controls assessments, KRI updates, and other risk management activities as required.
4. Support the business risk partners with risk reviews and create initial draft content.
5. Provide support to ensure that the ORSA process is undertaken in accordance with the ORSA Policy, including collation of information and preparation of the ORSA reports.
6. Assist in the investigation and remediation of risk events, control failings or weaknesses, and monitoring risk function actions. Assisting with root cause analysis, lessons learned and loss quantification.
7. Perform quarterly control validation with stakeholders, reviewing supporting evidence and suggesting recommendations to control wordings.
8. Support the emerging risks process by performing horizon scanning to identify new emerging risks and liaising with underwriters and other stakeholders where necessary, and review quarterly ORIC content for additional emerging risks.
9. Assist in preparing risk and control information for internal and external audiences including relevant Committees and the Board.
10. Provide risk management training, and ongoing support, to stakeholders.
11. Play a leading role in the development and maintenance of the Risk Function’s GRC tool (Decision Focus), including training system users and the development of the system’s AI functionality.
Role Requirements & Skills
12. Knowledge of the components of a Risk Management Framework would be preferable.
13. Preferably GRC tool experience, particularly Decision Focus.
14. Strong written and spoken communication skills.
15. Ability to prioritise and challenge.
16. Must be aligned with Arch’s values and behaviours, including being a committed team player and having a positive mindset.
17. Preferably educated to degree level.
18. Studying for relevant professional exams would be preferable.
19. Up to 5 years’ experience in the insurance sector, preferably in Lloyd’s or the London Market.
20. At least three years of relevant Risk Management experience.
