Coded Welders
Location: Norfolk / Suffolk – ideally within daily commuting distance of IP16
Reporting to: Supervisor, Construction Lead
Role Overview
Stowen is seeking experienced coded welders to support upcoming projects involving S355 structural steel and API 5L X70 pipework.
This role requires a strong safety focus, adaptability, and the ability to work independently or as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
Perform high-quality welding on structural steel and API 5L X70 pipe in accordance with project specifications.
Follow welding procedures and ensure compliance with industry standards.
Work effectively as part of a team to meet project deadlines.
Health, Safety & Environmental
Adhere to all site safety procedures and permit-to-work systems.
Take part in toolbox talks and risk assessments.
Maintain a clean, hazard-free work area.
Promptly report unsafe conditions, near-misses, or incidents.
Required Qualifications & Competencies
Valid welder performance qualification: ASME IX, AWS D1.1, or ISO 9606-1.
Typically qualified in 6G position, plus 3G (vertical) and 4G (overhead).
Proficient in:
SMAW
FCAW
Desirable
CSCS card.
Previous nuclear site clearance.

• Additionally, there is a Skills Test at the ECITB college Lowestoft
Lastly:
• Attend drugs and alcohol testing at SZC plus 3hour induction
