About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the new Patient Flow Admissions Team.
The team are responsible for the provision of an efficient admission and discharge service to all wards within the Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust and ensuring that patients are able to access secondary care in a timely manner.
You will play an important role ensuring data quality of patients details on PAS are accurate and up to date, ensuring duplicate registrations are identified and also ensuring that patient NHS numbers are captured. You will also play a key role in ensuring data quality of patients details on PAS are accurate and up to date, ensuring duplicate registrations are identified and also ensuring that patient NHS numbers are captured in order to assist in the co-ordination of emergency and elective admissions into the Trust.
Main duties
* Ensure that the data quality of patient details are accurate, investigating E-Camis for duplicate registrations and ensuring that multiple registrations are passed onto the Merge team
* To ensure that possible new registrations are thoroughly checked against E-Camis and the Central Spine Application and analyse the information on the databases prior to registering a new patient on E-Camis, ensuring that a duplicate registration is not activated
* To ensure accuracy of all patients demographic details ensuring NHS No is captured for all patients attending the Trust by checking Clinical Spine Application (a restricted access application) to view highly confidential and sensitive information.
* To ensure that for patients who are admitted and are new registrations that a new case note folder is created with appropriate labels attached including any allergy information labels.
* To ensure all checks are thoroughly made on the EDM/CITO system for notes which have been scanned to establish any information from previous history such as allergies, last admission date and transfer all relevant information accurately onto the CITO/Edm label on the front cover

Qualifications
* Sound educational background (4 GCSE’s grade C/ 5 or above)
Experience
* Experience and knowledge of multi-disciplinary team working
* Experience of good customer or patient care
* Working with computer software programmes such as Microsoft Office (excel, word and PowerPoint), e-mail and internet
* Previous NHS administrative role
* Experience with NHS/healthcare software systems including Symphony, E-Camis and System 1

* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with team/clients/relatives, demonstrate awareness of confidentiality issues.
