Overview (role purpose)
As a senior manager, the Senior Operations Manager will play an important role supporting the General Manager and operational team for Cardiology. This role is pivotal to the smooth running of the department.
Main duties of the job
The Senior Operations Manager will play a pivotal role within the Trust building close working relationships, both internally and externally, with clinical staff, other managers and support staff along with responsibility for ensuring optimal levels of staffing are planned for the primary PCI service. Other aspects of this role will include managing compliance of constitutional targets, utilisation and any internal performance indicators

Skills
* Excellent Presentation and Communication Skills.
* Ability to problem solve at high level
* Excellent organisational and time management skills
* Good Analytical & Judgement Skills
* Ability to use computer software to develop and create reports, databases and spread sheets
* Ability to work on own initiative IT Literate
* Ability to manage conflict Meeting management
* Demonstrable, experience (minimum of two years) of dealing with issues that are governed by delivering effective and efficient patient pathways and business efficiency
* Previous experience in management or with application of knowledge of service improvement and service efficiency initiatives
* Demonstrable, experience of identifying problems, recommending and implementing solutions/change
* Experience of Managing patients\' pathways and relevant KPI targets
* Experience of prioritising, planning and organising own workloads
* Budgetary management experience
* Leadership and influencing skills
* A minimum of two year\'s recent experience in a comparable post
Qualifications and training
* Management Qualification or educated to Degree level NHS Leadership Qualification
Governance
* Advanced, knowledge of all relevant NHS Policies and procedures for elective and diagnostics - specifically clinical quality standards
* Knowledge of all relevant NHS Policies and procedures for elective care - specifically 18 week standards
Other
* To be aware of and adhere to the Trust\'s Vision, Mission and Values.
